While most may argue that the age of the rickshaw is over, designer Kenneth Cobonpue has added a unique twist to the humble rickshaw, which is one of the greenest urban taxi alternative, by giving it a new woven look. Apart from the woven design, which is the designer’s signature idea, the conceptual rickshaw also gets a side driving bicycle, unlike conventional rickshaws, where the pedals are towards the center.
The concept rickshaw, dubbed Eclipse, with side-drive, lets passengers embark and disembark with ease and enjoy the city views, unhampered by the rider. The designer has tried to make the ride comfortable for the passengers with the inclusion of a head rest and a roof canopy to take care of inclement weather. Moreover, the all-white design gives the Eclipse a stylish and high-tech look.
