Lamps are something that can be made using a variety of materials to create unique shapes and eco conscious designers are doing just that with tons of fashion waste that comes out from fashion houses such as Missoni. British designer Naomi Paul is doing the same by using traditional crocheting techniques to create elegant lamps from waste textiles.
The designer just surfaced the “Omi” lighting collection, which is made entirely by hand with mercerized cotton and silk waste which is mostly thrown away. The stunning collection is made using bold colors combining sustainability and aesthetics. The idea seems commendable, especially considering the amount of fashion waste that is produced world over.
