Kepler Motors’ MOTION shows the true potential of a hybrid vehicle

While most of us believe that hybrids are slow to get off the blocks and their top speed too isn’t anything to be proud of, Russ Wicks of Kepler Motors is there to change this conception with the MOTION Hybrid. The car, which was initially unveiled at the Dubai International Motor Show in 2009, will now be launched as a limited edition. Only 50 units of this powerful hybrid will be made and each one will be assembled by hand.

The rear powertrain of this beast is powered by a 550hp Ford EcoBoost twin-turbo 3.5L V6, while the front gets 250hp dual electric motors. With a combined power output of about 800hp, the car goes from 0-60mph in just 2.5 seconds and can hit a top speed of 200mph. Being a series hybrid, the car cannot be operated in an all-electric mode, but somehow manages to show how far a hybrid engine can actually go. Check out the videos below to see the car burning some rubber on the highways.
