Apart from providing a safe place to live, disaster relief operations have to focus on providing electricity to the affected people as well. A team of designers have tried to solve both the issues with the help of a concept emergency relief tent that doubles as a renewable energy generator. Christened the V Plus, the emergency relief tent creates its own energy using onboard solar cells.
Each tent can become an independent energy unit to effectively solve the energy issues in disaster areas or can also be interconnected with other V Plus tents to form a larger shelter. The frame of the tent incorporates LED lighting that runs on the energy provided by the solar energy generator. The V Plus is compact and lightweight and can easily be assembled on site.
