The rise in the cost of energy along with the need to go green and hence reduce carbon emissions has made everybody including homeowners to utility companies think about the use of renewable sources of energy. There is nothing better than encouraging individuals to make use of renewable energy whenever possible than by showing its true colors at a music festival. While people in San Francisco can check out the use of pedal power at the SF Bicycle Music Festival, residents of Tennessee will now be able to enjoy the Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival that will be powered this year with renewable solar energy.
The first music festival of its kind in the US that runs on solar energy has been made possible with the organizers installing a permanent solar array for the festival that will generate more than 61,000kWh of electricity each year. The best part is that endeavor was made possible by a large number of music fans who opted to donate extra money for this environmentally friendly mission.
