After retiring from his job as a truck driver due to a medical problem, Hanford resident Jerry Arnold had lots of time to think about revolutionary products that would help people solve simple problems with the use of clean energy. After realizing how many people want their drinks to remain cold or hot without using cups that have to be plugged into a power source, Arnold came up with the idea of a revolutionary cup with integrated solar cells that keeps the drink at required temperature.
The patenting the idea of the Arnold Cup, Arnold is now waiting for companies that can produce the product. Hanford Sentinel reports that, five years into the design, Arnold has spent about $5800 on companies who say they will promote the cup and find someone ready to build a prototype. Currently he’s working with Florida-based New Product Help, but has had little luck.
