Adding a lot of luxury, comfort and style to the much needed green car revolution McLaren Automotive has announced that it’s much anticipated McLaren P1 will make its official public debut next month at the International Geneva Motor Show. The hybrid supercar, which obviously is a little green, fast and pretty, will only grace the garages of millionaires as the company states that the limited edition car will come at a starting price of $1.3 million.
The two-seat P1 is capable of hitting a top speed of 217mph and can go from zero to 62mph in just three seconds, to 124mph in seven and to 186mph in 17 seconds. Designed and built for both the track and the street, the vehicle is powered by a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine and an electric motor, the combination of which generates a whopping 903hp. The P1 can also be driven in pure electric mode, which is suitable for city driving at an average speed of 30mph for a maximum operating range of 12 miles.
Dvice notes that while the company earlier planned to produce about 4000 units, it has now reduced the number of just 375, might be due to its million dollar plus price tag.
