What was once the only portable way to store music has quickly been outdated with the birth of digital media. If you haven’t guessed already, we’re talking about cassette tapes here which we used to adore. However, with the birth of CDs and then the MP3 file format, cassette tapes were soon replaced by digital storage media, which offered users to easily re-write media on the same portable and easy to use device.
Despite all this, there is no dearth of individuals who still have a rich collection of old cassette tapes gathering dust. While not many of these individuals want to throw the collection, which was once adorable to them, in the trash bin, there are a few who try to immortalize the collection by turning old cassette tapes into wonderful pieces of art. Eco conscious designer Benoit Jammes has been kind enough to share with us his mesmerizing collection of cassette tape art, which he says is completely handmade. The nostalgic, completely handmade work of art sheds enough light on the amount of hardwork that has gone into its making. Check out some of the best pieces from his rich collection after the break.
